Empower Your Healing With Visualization

Posted by Andrew MacWha

Visualization, also known as Mental Imagery, or Visual Mental Rehearsal, is a technique that has been proven to be extraordinarily successful in producing a specific outcome. Whenever we imagine ourselves performing an action in the absence of physical practice, we are said to be using visual imagery.  Visualization techniques  have been used with great success in sports since the 1970s. Our brains are wired in such a way, that they can’t determine reality from imagination. The reason visual imagery works is because, when you imagine yourself performing a task or imagine your body doing what you want it to, you are physiologically creating neural patterns, or circuits in your brain, just as if you had physically performed the action. These patterns are similar to small tracks on a record, which gets played over and over. Visualization is intended to train our minds and create the neural patterns in our brain to teach our bodies to behave in the way that we want them to.

Learning to visualize is one of the most empowering skills you can learn when I comes to healing your body. The more detailed the visual process is, the more effective the results will be.  This is why the Will to Heal Technique uses detailed medical art in order to give you the knowledge and understanding so that you can create realistic images in your imagination, which you can then use to heal your body.

Hundreds of recent studies have found that guided visualization  is a powerful technique that enhances a person’s coping skills. Many people dealing with stress feel loss of control, fear, panic, anxiety, helplessness and uncertainty. Research has shown that guided visualization can dramatically counteract these effects and it can also help people overcome stress, anger, pain, depression, insomnia and other problems associated with illnesses and medical procedures.

The Will to Heal uses visual processes to help you relax and to reinforce the knowledge that you have learned during the workshops. While experiencing a visual process your mind is still and you are better able to make changes in your sub-conscious pattering while in this relaxed state. Many people have found this technique to be very effective when it come to relieving pain and stress, as well as making behavioral changes in their life.

The Will to Heal Technique offers mindfulness courses  that teach you to understand the various ways in which your thoughts affect your body and your body affects your thoughts. This type of mind-body healing works with you to reduce your stress and change your behaviors. Through understanding how your mind-body works, you can take control of your life and be free from stress and pain.
